Ask The Gynecologist: Benefits of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation

Benefits of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation

There is much to know about the subject of laser vaginal rejuvenation. These treatments have become very in demand in recent years as an effective way to address many of the most common vaginal health concerns. Despite an abundance of conversation about these treatments, many women may still not fully understand the potential benefits of laser vaginal rejuvenation. That’s why our board-certified gynecologist wanted to take some time to answer questions about what laser vaginal rejuvenation treatments are capable of.

Question #1: What are the primary differences between laser vaginal rejuvenation and vaginal rejuvenation surgery?

The most important distinction to consider is that laser vaginal rejuvenation treatments like FemTouch™ are non-surgical. This non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation can help rebuild the vaginal wall and provide outstanding, long-lasting results without many of the hang-ups commonly associated with undergoing surgery including downtime for recovery and excessive hospital costs.

Question #2: Will the results achieve with non-surgical laser vaginal rejuvenation improve with multiple treatment sessions?

In most cases, yes. The results achieved including treating symptoms like vaginal dryness, vaginal itching, and stress urinary incontinence will continue to improve with multiple treatment sessions. While it’s true that some women may only need one FemTouch™ treatment session in order to achieve the results that they desire, most women should prepare for multiple sessions. We typically recommend a series of between 2 – 4 sessions depending on each individual’s specific needs. In some cases, annual follow-up treatments can be very helpful.

Question #3: Can undergoing non-surgical laser vaginal rejuvenation treatments have any effect on a woman’s menstruation?

In our years of experience performing this treatment, we have not seen undergoing non-surgical laser vaginal rejuvenation cause any issues related to menstruation or irregular bleeding. If a woman does have menstruation issues following their treatment, it is likely due to an unrelated condition. In these cases, it’s important to speak with a reproductive healthcare expert.

For women who are good candidates for laser vaginal rejuvenation, the positive impact of this treatment can be immeasurable.
