How It Works

Consultation

Before your Emsella treatment, you can meet with one of our providers at Gynecology Associates of Gwinnett for a complimentary consultation. We’ll ensure you are an ideal candidate, establish realistic expectations, and create a personalized treatment plan for you.
Treatment

The treatment is very straightforward. You simply remain clothed and sit on the Emsella chair for the duration of the treatment. You will feel your pelvic floor muscles contract as it helps build strength in this area.
Results

Clients achieve the best results after multiple treatment sessions; we typically recommend a series of 6 treatments scheduled a few days apart.

Does Emsella hurt?

No, Emsella does not hurt. You will feel a contracting sensation in your pelvic floor as Emsella activates the muscles.

Are there other benefits to Emsella?

Along with improving bladder control, a strong pelvic floor from Emsella can also improve sexual health and satisfaction.

How long do Emsella results last?

Emsella results can last between 6 to 12 months, depending on the client. Just like exercising regular muscles, your pelvic floor muscles need to be maintained to keep their strength. We recommend yearly maintenance treatments to ensure Emsella results last long term.

Am I an EMSELLA Candidate?

The EMSELLA procedure is FDA approved for men and women of any age who experience stress, urge, or mixed urinary incontinence. Since an MRI type magnet is used for the treatment, patients with metal devices, including copper intrauterine birth control devices (IUDs), artificial hip joints, and pacemakers will not be able to receive EMSELLA treatments.
