It’s Not Too Late for An Annual Well Woman Exam

Annual-Well-Woman-Exam

We understand that the end of the year can be a hectic time. With the holidays nearing, kids out of school, and other end of the year madness, it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed. However, it’s important for women not to lose sight of the importance of their reproductive health in the midst of all the hustle and bustle. For anybody who has not yet undergone their annual well woman exam, there is still time.

Undergoing a well woman exam can be an excellent way for a woman to gain a better understanding of the state of her reproductive health. In addition to examining the patient’s well-being and performing a series of health screenings, a well woman exam allows women the chance to discuss any specific concerns they may have and propose goals for how to improve their health and wellness moving forward. That’s why December can be a perfect time for a well woman exam, with the promise of a new year and a fresh start ahead.

Well woman exams here at Gynecology Associates of Gwinnett include the following:

  • Full pelvic exam including a visual and physical examination of the reproductive organs
  • Pap Smear
  • Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) to detect any lumps or other abnormalities that may have developed since the last examination
  • Updated immunizations (as needed)
  • General health screenings including taking a woman’s weight, blood pressure, BMI, and more
  • Blood testing and screening for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) (as needed)

We personalize well woman exams in our office to the needs and preferences of each woman we see. The annual well woman exam can serve as a great opportunity to grow and enhance the doctor/patient relationships that we pride ourselves on cultivating. Well woman exams are meant to provide a platform where any question or concern pertaining to a woman’s health and wellness can be addressed.

Undergoing a well woman exam can be an excellent way to start the new year off fresh with a clean bill of reproductive health.
