At Gynecology Associates of Gwinnett, we feel it is important and often helpful for us to be able to offer our patients multiple options for addressing their reproductive health concerns. Like many other wellness treatments that we offer, endometrial ablation can be performed using different techniques and methods. This procedure is often used to assist women who experience irregular or especially heavy menstrual bleeding. Today, we wanted to focus on endometrial ablation with Minerva and the unique benefits this treatment method can provide our patients.
The Minerva system is a non-invasive procedure. Instead of utilizing incisions and surgical techniques, Minerva endometrial ablation applies focused heat energy to the endometrial tissue. Once the treatment has begun, Minerva allows our board-certified gynecologist, Dr. Kristine Gould, to deliver this energy to the endometrium using three different methods that include ionized argon gas, radiofrequency energy, and heated fluid to better treat the specific needs of each unique procedure. This customizability and flexibility is part of what has made the Minerva system such a success with women in recent years.
Check out the video below for more in-depth details on Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, which can be treated with Minerva endometrial ablation:
It’s important to remember that endometrial ablation is only an option for women who are not interested in becoming pregnant in the future. If you experience irregular menstruation and think that you might be a good candidate for endometrial ablation, we highly recommend reaching out to your board-certified gynecologist to set up a consultation appointment. Please don’t hesitate to contact Gynecology Associates of Gwinnett to set up an appointment with Dr. Kristine Gould today.
